The Cascade Festival of African films is America’s longest running festival of films from the African continent, and each year they develop a new branding and promotion campaign to highlight it. Seeking to represent Africa and film making without relying on cliche, my campaign relies on bold spirited color and a mix of hand-made elements, deferential to the DIY culture around film found throughout the African continent.
After finding the perfect imagery and settling on a composition, a series of experiments with photocopying, collage and hand painted elements led to the final DIY feel.
